Cleaned up the whole house and made chocolate chip and cranberry cookies

It’s basically ready for relaunch now – just needs a print stylesheet and to split the Waitrose recipe cards into separate entries, even though the actual recipes aren’t going to be online – too hard to find anything at the moment.

Everyone said so! Roast turkey with mascarpone, lemon, garlic and herbs, roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, parsnip and carrots, little cumberland and lincolnshire chipolatas. Djelibeybi played sproutmeister with a little help from our friend Robert. Lis made mulled wine. And I even made a passable ris a l’amande for pudding!

Getting a head start on Saturday’s big Christmas dinner party. Brownies are from Nigella Lawson’s How to be a domestic goddess. Pretty good. VERY fudgy though – I prefer my brownies a bit more cake-like in general.

Finally got to see the Rothko exhibition, which I loved but Simone seemed a little underwhelmed by it. Then we went and had a look at the Cildo Mereiles, which she loved but I wasn’t that taken with it. Some nice bits, but not really my sort of thing. Had a stunning peppermint tea in the members’ room – I think I need to get a tea-strainer so I can make peppermint tea with proper loose-leaf peppermint leaves. SO much nicer than the bagged stuff.
