Tasty but VERY sweet. If I made it again, I’d probably serve with freshly whipped cream to cut the sugariness of the caramel on the top.

Saw the nutritionist in the morning, the accountant in the afternoon and went to Waitrose in between times. Not exciting, but things that needed to be done, and both appointments went off well, so I’m feeling quite a bit better about both the food stuff and the accounts. Bond extravaganza in the evening: Casino Royale followed by Quantum of Solace. Lovely stuff.

Mya was in a production of Terry Pratchett’s Mort, which was fun. We had dinner with Robert & Lis beforehand at Canteen. A nice quiet evening. Fun to do something a bit different.

Djeli gave me a Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner! Now, the idea of being given a vacuum cleaner seems ever-so-1950s, but… it’s a robot! So I won’t have to lug the vacuum cleaner about any more! HUZZAH!

Changing light bulbs, doing the washing up, activating my new Amex card, transferring dates into my diary – that sort of thing. Nothing very exciting or life-changing, but things that needed to be done and things feel a little better for them being done.

Sad to have to make one’s own, I know, but it was a good excuse to try out a recipe I haven’t made before – my grandmother’s fudge cake, which my mother has pretty much made her own. Turned out pretty well!
