Messed about with designs for other pages

Getting the hang of doing graduated washes with watercolour in my Moleskine at last – the first couple turned out pretty spotty, but it’s looking a bit better now. Working on the designs is really getting ideas flowing about what we can do and how things can be accomplished. Exciting!

Bought new masking fluid

And some cheap brushes to use with it. Both on sale at Cass, of course. We went to the one at High St Kensington and did our usual walk through Holland Park to and from, which was lovely but totally wiped me out – SO exhausted. Nice to be out though.

Played around with homepage design for the super-secret project

Yes, it’s a web project. But then that would hardly surprise most people we know, I suspect. Design for this is entailing messing about with pens and watercolour and out of date masking fluid, which was rather nasty. Definitely needs replacing

Attended an awesomely productive meeting

Djeli and I decided that we’d never manage to concentrate seriously enough on what needed to be done on our super-secret project at home, so we booked the meeting room at his coworking office space and battled through things for 3 hours, with great results – not only do we now have a clue about what we want to do (several clues, actually), but we both have action items AND deadlines. Huzzah!

OMG AIRTUNES!

Djeli brought home an Airport Express this evening – so now, without any hassle at all, I am able to print to the laser printer again (which in spite of much technological wrestling, I haven’t been able to do since I upgraded to Leopard), but the best thing ever is Airtunes – we tested it with the AE connected to the digital radio speakers up here in the bedroom and it was just so simple! Plug it in, restart iTunes, give it a minute to find everything, then just PLAY. Brilliant. I can’t wait till we get it properly set up with the stereo downstairs. If we get an additional AE for upstairs, it looks like we’ll also be able to set the same music playing all over the house, which will be brilliant for spring cleaning days. YAY!

Slump

Really not well. Have done nothing, basically but watch telly, most notably “The Day the Earth Stood Still”

Some very slow knitting

I’m back in recuperation mode after having too much fun and getting too cold and eating a little too much yesterday, so today have done barely anything yet am still as weak as a kitten and totally exhausted. I did achieve a few rows of very slow knitting of the “Strangling Vine” scarf, which is probably about 70% done now. And quite a lot of TV-watching – Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen, and The Day the Earth Stood Still. Lovely convalescent stuff.

Art + conversation = win

Went back to the Tate Britain and took djelibeybi along this time to have a better look at the Rothko/Turner exhibition – it really is extraordinary when you look at the Rothkos from his recommended viewing distance of 18 inches! Then met up with pocketsteve and we wandered across the river for drinks, then had a pub dinner with a vast amount of marvellous conversation and exploration of brand-new iPhones. A fabulous time was had.

Sent off the first batch of film-score files…

… to the filmmaker. I do hope he likes them. Guess I’ll find out in the next couple of days. I finally made the breakthrough I needed to with Finale GPO. The sounds are awesome, I have to say – very tempted to add the full GPO to my list of things I want to buy when I win EuroMillions.

Wrestled with the film score

It’s coming along nicely, but splitting out parts and trying to change instruments on them through GPO is a nightmare. I haven’t succeeded yet. Taking a break to make a chicken and leek pie. Will try again tonight, I think.
