Drew and watercoloured a tree in my composition journal

Based on this photograph, taken in Rome. I was quite pleased how the watercolour version turned out, especially as I’d been a little concerned about how watercolour would act in my composition journal, which is a Moleskine reporter notebook with quite thin paper.

Read through first lot of posts from the Everyday Matters group

I’ve been meaning to join this Yahoo! group for a while because I like the philosophy and wanted to get the weekly challenges which seem to be updated only irregularly on flickr – now that I’m on I discover it’s a whole huge supportive community. Might need to switch to digest mode to save being drowned in floods of friendly artistic emails!

Continued work on my Christmas painting project

I started doing a Mr Pickleberry (my cartoon character I invented at school) Santa in watercolours as my Christmas card for my assortment on online friends the day before yesterday and have been doing a little more work on him each day. Today I filled in his sack of presents and worked on shadows a bit
